* Chilli with Noodles *


1/2 lb white navy beans (or 2 14-oz cans navy beans)
5 - 6 cups vegetable broth
1 tbsp oil
2 onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp dried oregano
8-oz can chopped chillies
Salt and pepper to taste
Soba noodles as required

Cook the noodles according to instructions and drain.
If using uncooked beans, put in a large pan with water,
salt and pepper. Simmer till 3/4ths cooked. Drain the
excess water.
If using canned beans, drain and rinse.
Put the beans in a saucepan. Add the broth and simmer
till tender.
Heat oil in a skillet and saute the onion and garlic
till soft. Add the cumin, oregano and chillies and
fry for 1-2 minutes.
Add to the beans along with salt and pepper. Simmer
for 5-10 minutes. Serve over the noodles.
